Neighbourhood Voices was founded by Gina Walters (she/her) (Before Breakfast) in 2017. Inspired by female-led, modern pop and indie choirs such as Deep Throat Choir and Lips, Gina wanted to create a safe space for Sheffield singers to find their own voices.
We are a contemporary, secular choir that sings a range of pop, indie and alternative music.
We welcome female identifying, trans and non-binary singers over 18 years of age, from any and all cultures, communities, neurotypes and backgrounds. We are LGBTQ+ friendly and actively working towards making our gigs and rehearsal space as accessible to all as possible.
No audition is required to join our choir and it is not necessary to be able to read music or have any kind of musical training.
All voices are welcome.
