What to expect when booking Neighbourhood Voices

Even though we have nearly 80 choir members, our gigs usually have around 30-40 singers at any one time. If you have a limit on people because of venue space or event capacity, please let us know when you enquire.
The music we can provide will be based around what the choir are learning at the time, so unfortunately we can't take requests (see below for more detail here) but we can tell you it will be a 30-40 minute set of contemporary pop/alt pop/indie with a mix of unaccompanied and accompanied music. Most songs will be upbeat, but there will be the odd ballad in there too.

Can I book you for a gig in mid-January or middle of August?
No, soz. We've just spent months learning christmas songs and we've had a month off over the festive period - so unless you want a lot of bad luck, we're out of action 'til Spring. August is our Summer break, so unless it's an exciting one - it's unlikely we'll have enough singers around.

Can I book you for our Christmas event?
Yes - we'd love to! But make sure:
1. We are the right choir for you. We don't sing carols and will only sing a set of 50% secular Christmas hits with a mix of a cappella and tracks.
2. You book us months in advance. The cut off to book NV to perform in December is the end of September. We're busy babes and theybs.
3. You understand that you will only get 30-40 singers, not the whole choir.
4. If you can host us on our annual charity Christmas Choir Crawl - you get us for free if we can collect donations for our charity of the year.
5. If the event is outdoors, do you have cover if the weather turns?

Can you learn a specific song for my event?
Unlikely. We sing off-book in 3-5 part harmony and that takes a long time to get performance ready. If you book us months in advance and it's for something special and you're happy to pay a commission fee for one of our directors to arrange the song, let's talk!

Can I book you to perform with your live band?
Yes, but we need a lot of notice and physical space on stage/in your venue. The three piece band will come at an additional cost.​
What do you wear?
Pink and Red - always! No (well, very few) exceptions!

How much do you cost?
We want to be flexible here and will do our best to find a price that fits within your budget. Though we are an amateur choir, our directors are working musicians and we ensure they are paid for their time and energy. I know it's not what you want us to say in this answer but please do email to chat it out.

Can we book the choir to record BVs on our record? Or at a gig in Sheffield?
Yes, we love collaborating with local artists. If our MDs need to do any vocal arrangements this would come at a cost but the chances are we'd probably do fun, creative projects for a donation - get in touch.

Can I advertise to your choir members on your social networks?
No. Our whatsapp group is a safe space. If you've got a discount code for tickets, freebies etc then maybe we can talk.
